Account Executive
As an Account Executive at Urban SDK, you will be critical in driving sales as a quota-carrying, full-cycle sales role responsible for driving new ARR and ensuring the success of our urban analytics and data management solutions. This role owns the sales process from first conversation through contract execution, working across complex stakeholders and long purchasing cycles common to government technology (GovTech).
You’ll work closely with city governments, transportation agencies, and urban planners, helping them implement and optimize our software for better urban planning and operational outcomes. The ideal candidate is a consultative seller with strong experience in SaaS sales (GovTech preferred) who can clearly articulate the business and operational value of data-driven decisions and the ability to guide clients through the implementation and adoption process.
Responsibilities
- Sales and Business Development:
- Own and manage a full-cycle sales pipeline, from initial discovery through close with a focus on consistent quota attainment
- Consistently progress opportunities through complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles
- Maintain accurate forecasting, pipeline hygiene, and CRM discipline

- Relationship Management and Account Growth:

- Market and Competitive Analysis:

- Provide feedback to the product and development teams on customer needs, feature requests, and market trends, influencing the product roadmap.
- Collaboration and Teamwork:

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in B2B SaaS sales, preferably within the GovTech, smart cities, or transportation sectors.
- Experience with SaaS implementation, onboarding, and user training, particularly with government agencies.

- Participate in hands-on sales training and coaching to develop your understanding of the sales process, including lead generation, qualification, and deal progression.
- Collaborate closely with the sales team and attend sales meetings to gain exposure to advanced sales strategies.
- Work towards a promotion to a full-time sales executive role through demonstrated performance and successful lead generation.

- As an SDR, you will be coached and mentored to become a successful sales executive, manage your own accounts, and contribute to Urban SDK’s growth.
- Show initiative and a willingness to take on additional responsibilities, such as assisting in product demonstrations and client meetings, to accelerate your development.
- Collaboration and Relationship Building:
- Build strong, trusting relationships with potential customers, understanding their business challenges and goals.
- Set up meetings and calls between qualified prospects and Urban SDK’s sales executives.
- Work closely with the customer success, implementation, and sales teams to ensure a smooth transition from lead qualification to full customer onboarding.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify and recommend improvements to the lead generation playbook to enhance overall sales effectiveness.
- Stay updated on market trends, customer needs, and industry changes to improve your ability to connect with prospects.
Qualifications
- Preferred Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in sales, marketing, or a related field.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively via phone, email, and in-person meetings.
- A self-starter with a growth mindset, eager to learn and advance within a sales organization.
- Ability to analyze and understand customer needs and match them with appropriate solutions.
- Familiarity with sales technologies (e.g., HubSpot, Apollo, ZoomInfo) is a plus.
- Must be able to commute to our office and be open to growth into a full-time sales role.
