Urban SDK Partners with Bakersfield

The city of Bakersfield, California will use Urban SDK's traffic calming software to help city officials address road safety. According to the city, "The City of Bakersfield continues to work to bring traffic calming measures to its streets to make them as safe as possible for all drivers, pedestrians, bicyclists, and others" — a goal in which Urban SDK will be invaluable.

Urban SDK's traffic management platform will provide officials with on-demand traffic speeds and roadway volumes to help the aforementioned traffic calming measures.

As officials employ speed studies around school zones, they can now use Urban SDK to pinpoint roadways that have the highest rates of speeds and fall within traffic calming parameters. This knowledge will enable smart deployment of law enformenct resources.

"We are very excited to kick off this partnership with the city," says Urban SDK AVP of Revenue Micah Dickman. "Bakersfield officials really see the vision of holistic planning — targeting high risk roadways, informing law enforcement, and then collectively working to make roads safer for both drivers and pedestrians."

Bakersfield is the latest California organization to use Urban SDK for traffic management, joining Tulare County.
